Much like up-and-over garage doors, but with one significant difference. Instead of a single pane that occupies the entire entrance to the garage, sectional garage doors are made up of several linked panels – or sections, hence the name. The method of operation is the same, with a tension-strung cable helping to lift the panels onto fixed runners. However, since the door ascends a panel at a time, it does not need to swing out as far as its up-and-over counterpart. This means that it does not extend into the driveway, making it a great alternative for customers with smaller drives, or larger cars.
